Education, Authority and Empowerment

The Project Management Institute (PMI) is a not-for-profit organization that offers certifications, resources, education and community to help project professionals succeed and elevate our world.

To help attract, educate and empower the association’s audience, we’ve help create — and grow — its omnichannel content marketing program over two decades. The result? PMI is an established thought leader with an engaged global community.

A Program Built to Evolve

It started with a monthly print magazine that became one of the association’s most valued member benefits. From there we added regional supplements and special issues covering the topics that mattered most to PMI’s auidence — wherever they were based around the world. The content mix became increasingly digital over time but never lost its power to connect.

Building Visibility With Social Storytelling

Our stop-the-scroll social storytelling strategy added depth and actionable takeaways to PMI’s social feed. Highly visual, highly relevant content kept members engaged across channels and locations.

Making Membership More Meaningful

We marked PMI’s 50th anniversary with a content marketing blitz that included a coffee-table book and graphic novel insert. But we didn’t stop there: We celebrated the PMI community’s volunteer efforts with an Hours for Impact content program that included digital features, social storytelling and an award-winning ebook. And we helped launch trailblazing franchises like the 50 Most Influential Projects and the Future 50 program celebrating up-and-coming project professionals.

Staying Topical — and Trusted

Project professionals are seeing their roles shift and evolve. So for the content to resonate, it has to be created with an audience-first approach. For us, that means strong storytelling rooted in journalism. We track the trends that project management professionals care about — and back that up with the real world reporting, talking to project managers about what they’re seeing in their own world. Case in point: The association’s annual jobs report provides an insider’s view into the socioeconomic trends driving marketplace demands, the latest must-have skills — breaks down what it all means. Then that content is atomized across channels and formats so users can take it in whenever, however and wherever they want.

Expanding the Content Ecosystem with Podcasting

We know thought leadership comes in many formats. So we’re proud to produce PMI’s biweekly Projectified® podcast featuring forward-looking discussions across a range of topics, from innovation to career development.
