Imagination Receives Community Award From Renowned Nonprofit 826CHI

October 4, 2019

Imagination is honored to receive 826CHI’s 2019 Community Award. 826CHI is a nonprofit creative writing, tutoring, and publishing center working to amplify young Chicago voices. The award was presented at the center’s annual gala, Eat Your Words, which honors the power of youth storytelling with a top-chefs food battle, while celebrating the work created by the students of 826CHI.

At its October 3, 2019, annual gala, 826CHI recognized Imagination as its 2019 Community Award winner after several years of employee volunteering. Imagination’s commitment to Chicago’s youth supports 826CHI’s mission, highlighting the importance of the intersection of creativity and education. Being able to learn from and lean on each other, 826CHI believes, results in rewarding partnerships in which everyone grows.

“Our internal aspiration is to be the most creative agency in the world. We strive for creativity and innovation every day, and 826CHI does the same,” said Imagination CEO and founder Jim Meyers. “It’s been an honor to work with and learn from the talented students of 826CHI, and to commit to giving back to Imagination’s Chicago community.”

The award was accepted at its annual Eat Your Words Gala by Kim Caviness, Chief Content Officer and EVP of Imagination. “Imagination is incredibly honored to be chosen as 826 Chicago’s 2019 Community Award partner of the year,” said Caviness. “We feel that it’s actually the opposite, and its Imagination who should be giving the award to 826. When our staffers volunteer with Chicago kids through our ongoing partnership, they come back on fire, having witnessed the live-wire power of youth finding their voices, creativity and discovering their own stories. That inspires the 100-plus staffers at Imagination year-round.”
